The Surgery Center RN Manager provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of the center. The RN Manager reports directly to the Director of the Surgery Centers. This role will have leadership responsibility of the Eagan Surgery Center location.

Supports the efforts of the Director by making staff assignments in their department of responsibility

Participates in planning for future needs of the center:

Understands and utilizes knowledge of Centers philosophy and objectives in directing activities of the staff.

Participates in the evaluation of departmental programs and activities

Collaborates with administrative staff on special projects and other assignments

Is responsible for the effective and efficient functions of the Centers staff

Acts as a resource to administrative personnel and clinical nurses for problem identification and resolution

Works in conjunction with the Equipment and Inventory Control Liaison and the Education Coordinator to implement training for new equipment as needed

Participates in the development of new policies and procedures relevant to the performance of
nursing duties within the center.

Enforces existing policies

Is aware of trends in nursing and health care management through professional association, professional publications, Internet resources, and library facilities, lectures, and continuing education activities

Facilitates staff meetings

Initiates orientation plans and monitors the progress of newly hired employees in the department of assigned responsibility

Monitors the procedure / surgical schedule in progress

The Surgery Center RN Manager is clinically competent to perform as staff nurse in their assigned department of
responsibility.

QualificationsSkillsEducation
Preferred

Bachelors or better in Nursing

Experience
Preferred

year: Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.

Required

5 year: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.

Required

3 year: Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience.

Preferred

year: Post-Basic Operating Room study beneficial, CNOR desirable
