Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
*BLS Required
Under the general supervision of the Director of Patient Access, the Scheduling Coordinator communicates with physicians offices and patients to schedule outpatient diagnostic tests and all surgical procedures. Works with each department to schedule efficiently. Acts as on-going liaison with physician offices to maintain an efficient program. Maintains master schedule on daily basis and manages scheduling with efficiency and productively. Assists with pre-registration of scheduled outpatients including insurance verification and pre-certification as required. Performs medical necessity audits; implement approval process; facilitates physician orders and performs EKGs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Sufficient previous admitting or scheduling experience (minimum 4 years)
- Physical Activity: Dictionary of Occupational Titles Strength Rating S
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Potential for musculoskeletal injuries related to moving and working with files and office equipment
