The Certified Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of the RN in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the intraoperative period. The surgical technologist possesses expertise in theory and application of aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation of tools and technology to prepare for procedures and facilitate the physician's performance of procedures. Duties of the surgical technologist may be performed in operating rooms, labor and delivery, and other areas where invasive procedures are performed. Duties may include precepting new staff and students.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Graduate of an approved surgical tech program required
  • Certified Surgical Technologist within 1 year of hire required
  • Registered Surgical Assistant with DORA for Colorado associates
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association

Physical Reqirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 4, 10-hour shifts. Call required- currently one night/week and one weekend per 5-week scheduling period (can call vary dependent upon staffing and case volume). Must be within 30-minute callback radius for call requirements.
