NEW HIRE SALARY RANGE:

Systems Analyst I - $55,000 - $65,000/yr

Systems Analyst II - $66,000 - $76,000/yr

POSITION SUMMARY: This position primarily focuses on the organizations electronic health record (EHR) and other HIPAA-compliant applications. Work on an Enterprise Applications team that is dedicated to helping achieve the company vision through EHR customizations and integration. The Enterprise Applications team routinely leverages technologies such as MS SQL Server, DB Visualizer, and SAP Crystal Reports. Each Systems Analyst may specialize and cross-train in one or more systems area.

Systems Analysts may work in one of the following areas of focus:

  • CWS (Clinical)-Electronic Health Record and other enterprise applications.
  • PM (Finance) - Medical billing, coding, and claims in Electronic Health Record.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Customize MHCDs EHR using built-in functionality. Other technologies used include Crystal Reports.
  • Ensure that systems have proper controls and safeguards for protected health information.
  • Actively contribute to successful Application Development team project accountability using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Perform standard quality control and data validation practices. Follow quality standards for documentation.
  • Perform problem analysis and resolution of day-to-day EHR system problems. Provide EHR application support to MHCD users working as a help desk tier II or III support engineer. Work closely with EHR vendor engineering and support teams to resolve MHCD EHR issues.
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Prepare, review and design Application Development project specifications. Plan and execute integration and acceptance testing, create system documentation and user training materials.
  • Evaluate new and existing hardware/software solutions and make a recommendation based on implementation feasibility and cost.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Electronic Health Record Manager and the Director of Enterprise Applications.

EDUCATION:

  • SYSTEMS ANALYST I: Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, data sciences, finance, accounting, or related discipline required; and 3+ years related experience.
  • SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST II: Masters degree in computer science, software engineering, data sciences, finance, accounting, or related discipline required; and, 6+ years related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Analysts specializing in the Finance area require in-depth knowledge of medical terminology, insurance codes and medical claims billing standards; and familiarity with Electronic Health Record development and other HIPAA-compliant projects.
  • Analysts specializing in the Clinical area requires in-depth knowledge of mental health terminology and clinical processes; and familiarity with Electronic Health Record development or other HIPAA-compliant projects.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment and/or working in a clinical setting is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to interpret information based on user input and current system functionality and to determine how to meet users needs in a seamless fashion.
  • Ability to understand business requirements, and to translate these requirements into logical system solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences that may not hold the same technical understanding of the systems.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Ability to use human-centered design when defining software requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and communications skills.
  • Ability to write use case design documents.
  • Ability to handle responsibilities independently, with a minimum of supervision.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Crystal Reports a plus.
  • Ability to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.

MACHINE & EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers and peripherals, calculators, fax machines, telephone and a variety of other office/clinical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office and/or similar equipment.
