Job Description

Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position of a System Director.For all full-time positions, we offer medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, 401K, sick pay (in states where required), employee assistance programs, company discounts, perks and more! As as System Director for Allied Universal you will be responsible for the security and safety of our clients property and personnel. As the Allied Universal System Director, you will know all site-specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service.

The System Director is a key leader and exemplifies the hospitals health system values while supporting the mission and vision of the organization. This leader is responsible for the security program across hospitals campuses including security officers, and surveillance personnel who are responsible for patrolling and inspecting the organizations property against theft, fire, vandalism, terrorism, as well as ensuring the safety of personnel, visitors & patients while on or about the organizations premises.

Essential Functions and duties:

  • Oversee physical safety and security of the organizations facilities/property and people employees, vendors, contractors, shippers, and visitors by creating the programming and policies & procedures that ensure the efficacy & integrity of security support and operations throughout the enterprise campuses.
  • Maintain and review security records; periodically report on trends anomalies and concerns to various stakeholder groups and governing bodies and or committees. Manage and report to top leadership on security threats and incidents.
  • Oversee and report on security checks/surveillance/monitoring. Ensure that security staff is adequately equipped, trained & allocated. Develop training plans for security personnel and maintain security training records.
  • Review the Hospital's Chicago policies and procedures to ensure compliance, system standardization, and rapid adoption of best practices throughout the hospital
  • Prepare, help and manage relations with US police as well as Fire Departments
  • Update and manage all Emergency Evacuation Plans and Critical Incident Response in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Works with management team and staff to achieve goals, plans, forecasts and operational and capital budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Interviews, hires, directs and evaluates leaders who exemplify our mission and fit our culture. Assists and develops leaders and staff in areas of mentoring and complex employee relations matters.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare safety as well as security awareness programs and communications.
  • QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • For Driving Positions must be 21 years of age, Current state drivers license, clean driving record (no points in prior 3 years), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

MINIMUM Education:

  • BA, BHA
  • MHA, or MBA, or MSN preferred

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • At least five years supervisory experience in management and administration. Healthcare experience is highly preferred.

  • Principles and practices of hospital administration

  • Business development, inpatient growth and strategy
  • Managing in a matrixed environment
  • Cost management and process improvement

REQUIRED LICENSES, Certificates, Registrations:

  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
