Position Overview:
The Systems and Support Engineer (SSE) is responsible inpart for ensuring that applications run optimally, and in collaboration withentire IT Team plans and executes upgrades and provides administrativeservices. This position requires the ability to work as a team, reviewdocumentation and come to conclusions that will lead to the successfulimplementation and continued production support of various applications.

The SSE has foundational responsibility for being theresource backup to the Senior Infrastructure Engineer. In addition, this rolefocuses on application engineering, especially as it relates to the creation,management and patching of applications which make up the DNA desktop images, bothlaptop and virtual desktop (Vdi). In addition, the SSE helps to manageend user support needs across the entire organization.

The SSE position also works with other IT staff members tocomplete special projects, including coordinating upgrades and technology rollouts. He or she is part of the team that evaluates new technologies andprovides input into purchases. This position will provide input into ITdepartmental standards.

This position is involved with the management of thenetwork and servers and will be required to monitor specific aspects of each.This position supports users and equipment in multiple locations and mayrequire travel and/or work outside of standard business hours.

Essential Functions:
End User IT Support
Able to work non-standard hours in order to support a 24 x 7 x 365 organization, including after hours emergency calls and on-site emergency support.
Participate in IT upgrades and new technology roll outs, including working with users for a smooth transition.
Works as integral member of the Helpdesk to provide technical and functional support to staff for all IT related needs
Able to learn new technologies and systems to keep pace with an ever changing industry
Travel to off-site locations in order to support organization staff
Troubleshoot problems and questions encountered by staff members.
Server Management
Support servers within the DNA environment, including physical and virtual servers.
Monitor server performance and work with other IT Staff to resolve issues.
Review, plan and implement plans for server end of life.
Ensure high availability of server environment.
Application Management
Is the primary DNA resource for all application packaging, patching, scripting and automation activities related to the creation and management of desktop and virtual (Vdi) workstation images.This includes operational understanding of each application, configuration management, DLL conflict resolution, deployment sequencing, deployment group creation and management, deployment testing, Q/A testing and application performance optimization.
Maintain and implement industry best practices related to application deployment.
Proactively engage with Senior Infrastructure Engineer to develop and maintain a working knowledge of all DNA technology engineering operational tasks and processes.
Management of Microsoft stack technologies including Active Directory, DNS, NTP, Group Policy, IIS, PowerShell and Windows Servers.
Manages the installation, administration and support of applications in use at Donor Network of Arizona. This includes the end user clients and backend, server side technologies including ensuring applications and backend databases are secure and available only to approved users.
Maintains detailed documentation on the installation, support and maintenance of applications in use at Donor Network of Arizona
Participates as part of entire IT team to coordinate, plan and implement new server and application deployments and upgrades
Provides administrative functions for applications, including but not limited to, securing permissions, adding and removing features, ensuring adequate patching.
Ensures hardware is maintained and adequate for DNA applications
Works with the other IT staff members to develop end user processes and instructions for user training
Network Support
Provides monitoring and support of the DNA network, including remote sites.
Provides support of remote sites/offsite data center.
System Recoverability
Works with the rest of the DNA IT Team to ensure systems are backed up appropriately and are able to be recovered for both day to day file deletions and disaster recovery purposes.
Part of the team that is responsible for business continuity/disaster recovery planning and testing.
Tests systems to ensure integrity of backups.
Planning
Ensures the security and integrity of these applications
Provides input on planning for ways to improve the DNA infrastructure and end user experience.
Regularly review workflows and propose ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness to the workflows.

Assists the Information Technology Director with tasks asassigned.
Participates inspecial projects related to technology training and implementation as assigned.
Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications:

Minimum Education
Associate degree and 5 years full-time IT supportexperience
Certification as a MCSE, MCDBA, MCADS, MCADE or MCASA isadvantageous.

Minimum Field of Expertise
3 Years of application packaging, deployment and automationexperience
5 Years ofexperience with MS Windows Server and its components
3 Years ofexperience with MS-365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)Intermediate operational understanding of VMWare and VSphere servervirtualization tools (ESXi Hypervisor, vCenter Server, etc.)
