SUMMARY:

JOB SUMMARY: Systems Design Engineer primary responsibilities will include the direct system support of assigned computer applications and projects. This support will require knowledge of application\system functionality, configuration parameters, web-based technologies, database management, data reporting, systems connectivity and integration of applications with other applications systems. Responsibilities will include strong background on environment setup, upgrade, updates, configuration, proactive monitoring, resolving complex issues, capacity planning and maintenance. This position will be dedicated to ongoing support of Epic environments, and third party systems.

Support will require strong UNIX skills, RDBMS platforms proficiency, working knowledge of SQL Server, ETL process and development, understanding of operating system concepts and programming background. Competent to work on most phases of database management, applications/systems analysis, interfaces and programming activities. Creates, installs and administers various database environments. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintain those programs. Designs may involve systems connectivity, web or system front-end user interface to new or existing database using a combination of below or other languages to make business/clinical applications accessible. This position will execute many of the same activities as the less-experienced analyst, but in addition, will typically lead, coordinate, work on more complex, larger and higher importance/impact projects.

Systems Design Engineer will participate in cross functional communications, meetings, and projects to promote hospital objectives for the purpose of providing patient care. Provides support and/or technical coordination of project processes and documentation. Participates in all phases of major projects; planning, preparing, maintaining and tracking project plans. Provides regular and accurate progress updates and status reports. Responsible for completion of a phase of a project.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum five (5) years related IT experience as well as the following certification:

  • EPIC Certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position required.

    • Current open positions required certification:

      • Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA)

      • Cogito: Clarity\Caboodle ETL Administrator; Caboodle Developer and Data Model

    • Additional Epic Certifications a plus:

      • Bridges Interface

      • Data Courier Administrator and Chronicles Install Utilities

      • Operational Database Administrator (ODBA Cache)

      • Security (EMP/SER)

  • Certificates or experience related in the following: UNIX, RDBMS, BOE, Cloverleaf, ASP.net, Graphic Design, Visual Basic, .Net, C#, MS SQL, Oracle, IIS, HTML, Active X,CSS, SSRS, SSAS, or SharePoint

POSITION DETAILS: Full time 80 hours per pay period, day shift.
