Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position for an Armed Security Officer. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to contribute to our companys core purpose of providing unparalleled service, systems and solutions to serve, secure and care for the people and businesses of our communities. The Armed Security Officer is a deterrent to criminal activity by remaining visible and presenting a neat and professional appearance in properly worn uniform and associated equipment.

Armed Tactical Officer Responsibilities - Tactical Officers serve as a general security presence and a visible crime deterrent. They serve as the primary responder to any incident involving an imminent threat to personal safety.

  1. A) Maintains proficiency through initial and subsequent re-training in the use of all
    assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, less than lethal devices, and

    B) Works in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
    C) Required to utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level.
    D) Maintain high standards of proficiency and training to successfully resolve highly
    stressful and dynamic situations including but not limited to armed individuals, persons
    in crisis, workplace disturbances, etc.
    E) Monitors for criminal activity which may be a threat to the facility, Capital One or
    employees, visitors and others at the site.
    F) Patrols the location of assignment via random walking tours or vehicle.
    G) Response to all emergencies and threats including medical emergencies and to
    alarms, such as fire or intrusion alarms.
    H) Performs all essential functions inside and outside the property with exposure to
    inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
    I) Conduct searches of Capital One associates and contractor belongings (bags, desks,
    lockers, etc.), if directed by Capital One as part of an investigation. All searches, with
    the exception of exigent circumstances such as an active threat, must be approved by
    the Regional Security Lead or their designee before the search takes place.
    J) Prepares logs and reports as required.

Armed Tactical Officer Requirements -

A) Prior advanced training in emergency medicine preferred; prior tactical firearms
experience required.
B) Minimum 3 years federal, state, local law enforcement or military police experience
C) Must possess advanced skills and professional experience in the areas of people and conflict management with tact and discretion and through the utilization of de-escalation techniques.
D) Must possess the ability to function in stressful situations while exercising good
judgment.
E) Demonstrate strong customer service skills, including the ability to communicate
effectively with the public while maintaining poise and self-control under stress.
F) Must possess advanced skills and professional experience in the areas of people and conflict management with tact and discretion.
G) Must possess, or be able to obtain, weapon training qualification certification for the
type of weapon required at the post to which the applicant is being considered for
placement

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Driving Positions: must possess a valid Drivers License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Must be able to handle working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment
  • Ability to provide high quality security services to protect people and property, while maintaining proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons
  • Participate in industry specific security/safety training programs
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
