  • Behavior Intervention Specialist

    Department: High School Campus
    Reports to: Principal or designee, Director of Special Education
    Full time: 1.0 FTE (Exempt)
    Placement: Instructional Support S

    Position Summary:
    The Behavior Specialist helps coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plan that address students inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to help the students become more academically successful. Behavior Intervention Specialist also provides classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies.

    Training and Experience:
    • Bachelors degree with emphasis in counseling, social work or special education required.
    • Masters degree with emphasis in counseling, social work or applied behavior analysis preferred.
    • Experience in a similar position or counseling position preferred.
    • Training or related experience in counseling, special education or social work preferred.


    Licensing/Certification Requirements:
    • Valid DPS fingerprint clearance card.
    • Certification or licensure through ADE or Arizona Board of Behavioral Health preferred.
    • Examiners/CISW/CPC/BCBA preferred.
