Position Summary |
The UNM Information Technologies Campus Outreach and Engagement area for the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Technical Analyst 1 to play a key role in supporting the IT needs of our academic, administrative, and research missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of technical and interpersonal communication skills including but not limited to in-depth knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, system management tools, and remote assistance tools. This role will be widely responsible for planning, proposing, and maintaining a majority of the college's departments technical needs and assisting with higher grade Analysts with work within our advanced research centers. Work will be guided on a day to day basis via an internal support ticketing system by a designated service desk coordinator with overall projects and departmental guidance coming from the unit IT Officer. Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; at least 6 months of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Experience of with a current major operating system (Windows 10, Mac OS 10.xx, major Linux distributions) Experience with Active Directory functions for file shares, print management, and permissions. Ability to analyze, provide support, and document complex computer problems across a diverse userbase Experience communicating technical solutions to both technical and non-technical staff and faculty, both verbally and in writing. Ability to create, maintain and deploy a standard computer image |
