Position Summary	PLEASE NOTE: This position is forthe UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west ofAlbuquerque, NM. University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch, Fine Arts, Humanities & SocialSciences Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-faceand/or develop lower division courses (1000/2000 level) in the Spring, Summer,and Fall 2025 semesters in the following anticipated potential disciplines: AmericanStudies Anthropology Architecture Comparative Global Ethnic Studies Family & Child Studies Geography & Environmental Studies Latin American Studies Political Science Public Health Psychology Sociology Sustainability Studies UNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico located approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque. The University of New Mexico established branch colleges to provide thehighest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education atdifferent locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specificallyto the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respectivecommunities by offering community education programs, career and technicaleducation including certificate and associate degree programs, and transferprograms that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges anduniversities. The Fine Arts, Humanities & Sciences Division at UNM Gallup Branch isseeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower divisionclasses in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructorsare responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including butnot limited to meeting face-to-face with the class during assigned times thatmay include evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development,grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning asoutlined by the division chair. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by studentenrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven bygraduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated eachsemester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to thedivision chair. Wages Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials andcredit hour course loads, as follows: Credentials RatePer Credit Hour Terminal Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching $1,100.94 Terminal Degree, less than 12 hours Collegeteaching $1,056.70 Masters Degree, plus 12 hours Collegeteaching $1,017.60 Masters Degree, less than 12 hours Collegeteaching $1,017.60 Best Consideration Dates For best consideration please apply by these dates: November 08, 2024 for Spring 2025 Semester January 31, 2025 for Summer 2025 Semester May 31, 2025 for Fall 2025 Semesters
Qualifications	Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in AmericanStudies, Anthropology, Geography, Political Science, Public Health, Psychology,Sociology, or related field; OR a masters degree and 18 graduate credit hoursin any of the discipline or subfield for which you are applying Preferred Qualifications: College-level teaching experience Teaching experience in the region Commitment to serve diverse communities
