Job Description

These positions are located at our Tampa, FL programs.

Summary/Characteristicsof Position:

The Therapist will provide client-centeredcounseling services to promote recovery and coping skills related to substanceabuse, mental health, homelessness and/or criminal justice involvement.

CoreResponsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Performspsychosocial assessments identifying personal, psychological and environmentalneeds/risks.
  • Develops andupdates individualized treatment plans outlining identified issues, goals,objectives and interventions to support progress, successful discharge and ahealthy post-discharge lifestyle.
  • Provides counselingservices to include individual, group and family therapy.
  • Observesclients for behavioral changes and progress in treatment and engages clients totalk about their issues including, but not limited to addiction, mentalillness, trauma, medications and recovery.
  • Maintains clinicalcharts and documentation of assigned clients.
  • Providesclinical guidance to team members ensuring evidence-based practices arepromoted and utilized in service delivery.
  • Participatesin multidisciplinary team meetings and/or court hearings for progress review
  • Developsstatus and census report as required.
  • Prepares andcoordinates discharge planning, gives consultation to parents/guardians, andmaintains professional communication to ensure linkage with referral sources.
  • Adheres toregulatory bodies and licensing rules, guidelines and established protocols tocarry out all duties required by contract, licensure, accreditation, andcertification.
  • Assessesclients for admission into treatment services and admits new clients, insuringproper documentation
  • Providestransportation to clients for appointments.
  • Performsrelated work as required /assigned.

Pre-requisite Requirements:

  • Master's degreein social work, counseling, psychology or license eligible counseling degree
  • Valid Florida Driver's License

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability tomaintain strict confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to relateto clients from all social-economic class, race, sexual orientation and/or substanceabuse/mental health problems.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in behavioral healthcare setting
  • Certified Addictions Professional (CAP)

Supervision: This position reports directly to the ClinicalSupervisor or Program Director This position does not provide direct supervisionto others.

Physical Requirements: Safety/HealthConsiderations:

  • Standing,walking, carrying, stooping, speaking, and listening.
  • Must be able tolift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be physically capable of fully participating in verbal and physical (crisisintervention) and CPR/First Aid training

Travel: Thisposition does not require overnight travel.
