Job Description Summary

As a Title Policy Typist / Post-Closer Auditor working for Inspired Title Services, Taylor Morrisons title company, you will be responsible for all post-closing functions, including auditing the file to ensure all requirements have been met/satisfied, appropriate documentation has been obtained and is documented in the file, and for the preparation of final policies in accordance with final markup and pro forma, and delivery of same to the appropriate parties to the transaction.

We trust that as a Title Policy Typist / Post-Closer Auditor you will or have: (responsibilities)

  • Know title insurance requirements, policies, endorsements, legal descriptions and underwriting procedures
  • Ability to Review, verify, organize and audit closed title files to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate with appropriate parties to resolve questions and concerns regarding title file
  • Review and verify documents relative to all curative matters, including satisfactions and releases
  • Review survey and ensure survey matters are included on title commitment/policy
  • Review and verify recorded documents, including notary acknowledgements, legal descriptions, and lien information
  • Prepare Loan and Owners' title insurance policies and distribute to appropriate parties
  • Work with accounting to balance files and ensure premium collections/remittances are correct
  • Prepare, distribute and collect file invoices if needed
  • Collaborate/confirm with management to resolve open curative matters such as clouds on title, legal description discrepancies, easements, lot splits, vesting, tax liens, abstracts of judgments, bankruptcies, boundary disputes, encroachments, Lis Pendens, mortgage liens, UCC filings, etc.
  • Assist management in preparing State audits and quarterly/annual reports

About you:

  • High School Diploma (Bachelors or Associate's degree a plus); or five (5) years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-centric environment
  • Excellent experience in pre and post close activities such as order entry, curative matters, funding/disbursement and policy preparation/issuance
  • Must be of high integrity, technical competence and high moral character
  • Strong communications skills - written, verbal, and listening
  • Highly proficient level of computer skills in title production and closing software (e.g. SoftPro, Ramquest, ResWare) including spreadsheet, word processing, and power point
  • Be multi-tasked oriented with attention to detail
  • Plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Maintain an organized office

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Will have responsibilities such as:

  • This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
