Position Summary

The Social Sciences Division at UNM-Valencia is seeking applicants for a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member to teach a Criminal Justice course in the fall 2021 semester.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, theUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit HighSchool/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty andstaff serve a student body of over 2,000 credit students per semester.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
  • Five-year field experience in the criminal justice system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to teach a face-to-face evening course at UNM-Valencia Campus in Fall 2021
  • Ten-year field experience in the criminal justice system
  • Three-years experience in teaching adults
  • One-year experience in working with juveniles
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
