The Senior Trade Services Specialist reviews and processes international trade instruments and their associated transactions in Webster Bank's prescribed software platform for the purpose of completing new, amended and payment transactions to fulfill client requests. The Specialist partners with Client Relationship Managers and outsourcing partners to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all required transactions and provides insight to clients and staff regarding the processing requirements of documentary and standby letters of credit, documentary collections and associated instruments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and process international trade instruments and their associated transactions in prescribed software platform; secure all confidential information required to complete processing of these transactions and standby letters of credit.

  • Review client's available credit for instruments requiring liability booking before processing.

  • Ensure funds are available and place holds on client accounts for payment transactions.

  • Ensure letter of credit reimbursement agreement is on file for each customer; verify signatures on received work are valid and in accordance with Bank policy before processing.

  • Respond to requests received from clients, as well as internal/external sources and provide assistance with the resolution of issues which may arise from time to time.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.

EXPERIENCE
  • 2 years of experience in Trade Services is required.

  • Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor's, and/or Master's) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or else extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration

  • Knowledge of Cibar, general banking operations and bookkeeping concepts.

  • Comfortable with basic computer and software usage.

  • Ability to consistently provide accurate results in a fast-paced time sensitive environment.

  • Possess a self-motivated work ethic to ensure the best possible results with all assigned duties.
