Position Description
Performs supervisory and participatory work in the construction, erection, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. Responsibilities include the supervision of a work crew involved in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of equipment, furnishings, and various other structures and fixtures. Duties also include the actual hands-on work in this area. Work is performed under the general supervision of the foreman with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise other assigned workers.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Works with other trades and maintenance staff to complete maintenance and installation of other building systems.
  • Prepare and submit work documentation, to include work order submission, changes to system (e.g. directories), etc.
  • Install and maintain special systems and equipment such as modular furniture, telecomm, kitchen equipment, life safety systems, hoods, VFDs, etc.
  • Responsible for keeping all work areas, equipment and tools clean and in excellent working conditions.
  • Performs other related and various job duties as assigned.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned building systems and/or equipment.
  • Contributes with knowledge and skilled labor to construction and renovation projects of the institution.
  • Responds to emergency calls to correct or remediate the problem.
  • Installs, maintains, operates and repairs building systems and associated equipment.
  • Actively participates and completes training, personal development and continuing education.
  • Supervises the Installation, maintenance, operation, construction and repair of building systems and associated equipment.
  • Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Drivers License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier. Must be able to pass the employee criminal background check.
