Position Summary |
The UNM Division of Human Resources is seeking a progressive, collaborative and customer focused Training and Development Specialist to be responsible for instructional development and eLearning instructional design. The Specialist will join a talented and cohesive team within HRs Employee and Organizational Development Department (EOD). The Division of Human Resources creates a culture where our employees are engaged and empowered. We do this by delivering exceptional service and resources to make employees lives better every day. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Create and/or improve assets based on gap analysis and other business needs. Transition training programs to an asynchronous or blended approach utilizing tools available to the team such as Captivate, Articulate, and Vyond video creator. Knowledge of Canvas, Moodle, and UNMs Learning Central Learning Management System is an asset. Assist the LMS administrator with designing course shells, integrating course assets, and more. Work closely with the EOD Manager and team to ensure course/ asset learning objectives align with business needs. The Training and Development Specialist works with multiple departments and will have access to sensitive information, so the utmost professionalism and discretion is required. This position requires a high degree of self-direction matched with collaboration. Job Skills and Qualifications The successful candidate should have a strong track record of demonstrated experience with the following: Strong commitment to customer service. Project management and coordinating training projects/programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Training and facilitation skills. Ability to determine training objectives. Organizing and coordinating skills. Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology. Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Captivate, Articulate, Moodle, instructional design and video creation. See the Position Description for additional information. |

Minimum Qualifications |
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Bachelors Degree in Organizational Development or related field Experience with learning management systems and instructional design Experience with online ticketing systems Experience designing/teaching/training in Moodle, Canvas or other LMS. Office administration skills. |
