How this role supports our mission:

Responsible for assisting in the overall management of the Transportation area; manage drivers, dispatch and material handlers. Helps to ensure that transportation needs are met in a satisfactory, consistent and timely manner. This includes pickup and deliver donations, merchandise from/to all stores, department operations.

Assist with timely, safe and efficient routing and scheduling trucks and equipment to/from attended donation centers, retail stores, and transportation hubs.

Assist with managing processes and people to consistently improve productive and quality growth within transportation services and dock operations.

Develop and maintain a professional, open rapport with department staff through open door communication and personal observations.

Ensure all equipment (trucks, miscellaneous dock and material handling equipment) is properly maintained and is compliant with prescribed policies/procedures.

Ensure current and developing needs are satisfied in staffing levels, work environment and equipment.

Assist with managing prescribed budget limitations and monitor expenses of personnel. Ensure accuracy in all expenses/reports associated with management of Transportation department.

Monitor personnel to ensure proper dispersing of donated goods and pilferage does not occur.

Manage employee hiring, training, development, evaluation, appearance, coaching, safety, and termination following internal policies and standards.

Follow company/department policies and procedures; maintain compliance of ADOT, Federal and state regulations, and other standards.

Follow all safety rules/policies; Report accidents, injuries, incidents and violations of safety policies immediately.

High school diploma or GED

Two (2) years supervisory experience and one (1) year driving experience

Must have a valid Arizona driver license and auto insurance, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift.

Ability to pass the strength and agility test.

Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.

Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).

Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
