- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age with four (4) years of general driving experience.
- Two (2) years of school bus driver CDL experience or any combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job.
- Valid Arizona Drivers License.
- Must possess a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL), with S&P (School Bus and Passenger) endorsements, and Department of Public Safety (DPS) School Bus Driver Certification.
- Ability to obtain CPR Instructor, School Bus Driver Classroom Instructor, Behind the Wheel Instructor and Physical Performance Instructor certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Valid IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Department of Public Safety.
- Entering and retrieving data and preparing reports using available computer software.
- Classroom facilitation and presentation.
- Use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Use of transportation technologies including GPS, driver telematics and DVR camera systems.

Position Summary:
The Transportation Driver Trainer is responsible for conducting effective behind-the-wheel and classroom instruction for drivers and aides and supports the transportation departments safety mission. Serves as a substitute driver or may be assigned to a route as needed.
