OVERVIEW/SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Trauma Therapist provides trauma healing services to patients at Sierra Tucson, specializing in EMDR and/ or Somatic Experiencing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Masters Degree in a Counseling, Social Work or related field required
- EMDRIA approved Basic Training preferred
- Somatic training preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years post Masters Degree in the Behavioral Health field
- One year post EMDRIA Basic Training facilitating EMDR sessions preferred
- One year post Somatic training facilitating SE sessions preferred
- Experience working with a wide variety of diagnoses preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of trauma-oriented psycho-dynamics
- General counseling skills
- Ability to facilitate individual therapy
- Medical record documentation
- Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team context
- Ability to work with a wide range of diagnoses and behaviors
- Multi-cultural sensitivity
- Excellent time-management skills
- Providing didactic lecture material
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of the 12-Steps
LICENSURE:
- Certification and/or licensure preferred
