JOB SUMMARY: The Ultrasound Manager is responsible for the staff and activities of the Ultrasound department while functioning within a matrix organizational structure. The Ultrasound Manager directly reports to the Director of Imaging Services with dotted line responsibility to the physicians and administrators. The Ultrasound Managers direct reports include the Ultrasound Technologists (Sonographers) and clerical staff of the division. The Ultrasound Manager will complete performance evaluations and will participate in the hiring and disciplinary action processes of their staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:

  • ARRT Certification,
  • Ultrasound Certification (RDMS),
  • Texas State License

2. Work Experience:

  • 5-8 years Ultrasound clinical;
  • 3-5 years Ultrasound supervisory

3. Management Experience:

  • 3-5 years Ultrasound supervisory/management; preferably in an academic environment

4. Equipment Operated: Ultrasound scanners, PACS, RIS and related clinical equipment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
Bilingual Skills Required: No
Writing /Composing (Correspondence/ Reports)

2. Other Skills:
Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, P.C., Statistical

3. Work Schedule: Flexible
