Position Summary |
UNMs FacilitiesManagement is currently seeking to hire two (2) Utility Plant Tech (pre-certified) to join our team. The selected candidates will work astationary schedule of an average 8.3 hours per shift; on occasions, mandatory16 hours overtime shifts. This position is under direct supervision andguidance from designated qualified operator(s) and certified technicians. Inaddition, he/she will operate and perform preventive maintenance onhigh-pressure boilers, refrigeration units, steam and gas turbines, electricalproduction systems, and ancillary equipment. Assists with standard wateranalysis and chemical treatment of operating systems. Facilities Management isresponsible for the care and upkeep of the physical campus environment.Additionally, the department maintains the Universitys district energy systemproviding electricity, steam, chilled water and domestic water through its owndistribution systems.
