Primary Functions:

CPLC is seeking a Production specialist to join our Marketing team in advocating for underserved and underrepresented communities.

We are looking for someone with a heart for the community, a passion for social justice, and a desire to use their skills and talents to make a positive difference in the world.

Your day-to-day work will support programs in 5 states that provide education to low-income children; refuge for victims of domestic violence; support for families experiencing homelessness; loans for minority-owned small businesses; and many other important causes.

In addition, we are seeking someone with training and/or experience in graphic design and illustration. This individual should have a strong creative intuition, understanding of fundamental principles of graphic design and visual communication, and technical knowledge of graphic design software and file preparation for both digital and print applications.

CPLC was founded as an advocate for the Mexican-American community; as a result, this position will benefit from an individual with an interest in Mexican-American culture, history, and art. Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.

We are also seeking someone who is interested in growing as a designer and as a member of our award-winning Marketing Team.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design, layout, and visual organization required
  • Please include an example of a project completed via a website or portfolio (Recommended)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver, Premier Pro, Camera Raw (Lightroom and/or Bridge), and Acrobat Pro preferred
  • Knowledge of "After Effects"
  • Strong illustration skills preferred
  • Knowledge of design best practices and ability to stay up-to-date with emerging techniques and technology
  • Ability to provide creative solutions that comply with established brand standards
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate in team setting to meet deadlines
  • Ability to navigate a business environment, including email communication, group meetings, and Outlook calendar function
  • Spanish fluency and knowledge of Mexican-American culture and traditions preferred

Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce graphic design and illustration, including camera-ready files for both print and digital applications, such as printed documents, website, and social media
  • Participate in collaborative design brainstorming meetings
  • Follow creative direction of Manager of Creative Services and work within established brand guidelines

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Advanced understanding of file preparation for both print and digital applications
  • Strong understanding of fundamental design principles, including composition, color, typography, hierarchy, and use of space
  • Ability to think creatively and develop design solutions
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • 1-2 years related work experience preferred
  • Associates and/or bachelor degree in Graphic Design preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver, Premier Pro, Camera Raw (Lightroom and/or Bridge), and Acrobat Pro preferred
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Power Point preferred
