The primary responsibility of your job position is to provide enhanced security to residents, staff and visitors to the community by providing a presence and monitoring facility parking lots, hallways, public areas entrances and exits and all persons in these areas following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities. You are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. The position is an unarmed security position.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/JOB TRAINING

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination or qualifying exemption required.

Experience

  • Must have one (1) year experience in security experience in a hospital or nursing or health care facility preferred. On-the-job training provided.

  • Ability to pass background and drug screen.

  • Bilingual skills preferred.


Specific Requirement

  • Ability to assess safety of environment and respond in a calm manner.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to staff, residents and visitors through verbal interactions and offers of assistance.

  • Ability to react quickly to security and safety concerns and contact local police or fire departments as event indicates.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and written in English and to complete written reports including maintenance requests and incident reports.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective time management skills and to prioritize safety oversight tasks.

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

  • Ability to drive facility van

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully when personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public

  • Must be a supportive team member

  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents

  • Must be able to lead, transport, and unload residents

  • Must be able to communicate and function in and interdisciplinary team

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent people skills and organizational skills
