    This posting is for volunteer coaches that have been approved by the site athletic director. Please contact the athletic department prior to applying: (480) 987-5940. Volunteers are not permitted to begin services until cleared by Human Resources.

    JOB GOAL:

    To provide an enjoyable and safe sporting experience for athletes, while they learn individual and team games skills, sportsmanship and fair play.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. NFHS- Concussion Course, Fundamentals of Coaching Course, and Bullying, Hazing & Inappropriate Behaviors Course:
    3. Valid AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Card:
    4. Ability to pass a background investigation
    5. Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Maintain high expectations for student athletic skill development
    • Reinforce school-wide rules and expectations
    • Collaborate closely with fellow coaches and Athletic Director
    • Differentiate instruction effectively to meet the individual needs of students
    • Participate actively in professional development
    • Communicate effectively with parents
    • Build strong relationships with students, teachers and families

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses and to drive to the schools and departments in the District. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Sport season plus possible playoff games and camps/clinics.

    EVALUATION: Completed at the end of season by Athletic Director
