Position Summary: The VP of Account Resolutions (VP - AR) is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing and directing the Account Resolutions department. Reports to and works closely with the Executive Leaders in Operations and Treasury to ensure aging and ARS reporting is accurately tracked. Analyze provider alerts and report to minimize the company risk. Managing the portfolio to obtain payment from the debtors. The VP-AR is a member of the management team and is expected to contribute to the organizations vision, culture, direction, guidance, and regulatory compliance to support the organizations overall strategy, growth and operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the Account Resolutions teams ensuring the DSO and dilution on accounts is kept within acceptable limits. Analyzes departmental performance and advises the teams on high risk decisions while maintaining established credit and underwriting controls to prevent loss exposure.
  • Educates, trains, monitors, problem-solves, and ensures company policies are followed across the Account Resolutions department and provides strategic direction to management and their teams. Ensures all team members are effectively trained and have the tools available to carry out their tasks in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Stays informed of industry trends as it relates to concentration in the portfolio and debtor risk; makes changes and recommendations accordingly. Reviews credit alerts to be sure the companys risk is manageable and manage monthly reporting.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are being followed and there are no gaps between these documents and practice; staying abreast of federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  • Oversees and vets the account resolutions analyses required for new business ventures, major revenue production, and capital expenditure proposals.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate experience executing collection strategies and customer service call center solutions and delivering transformation at scale.
  • ??Collaborate with Operations Leadership and other cross functional partners, through analysis of portfolio performance, trending, and risk management practices to collaborate on strategies and will be responsible to prepare the team to implement strategy enhancements in account resolution.
  • Ability to articulate and sell a vision internally and externally and proven track record of defining and optimizing collections & navigating ambiguity and change with ease.
  • Responsible for overseeing the ongoing Account Resolution activities and for achieving expected results (loss, budget, staffing) per the business plan.
  • Responsible for collaborating on and implementing strategies for short and long-term business growth, process improvements, and ensuring that regulatory, fraud and compliance measurements are met or exceeded.
  • Responsible for directing and managing the preservation of the companys assets within targeted goals; including minimizing charge offs and losses by controlling delinquent loan payments, utilizing loss mitigation techniques, and/or default management strategies and recovering collateral on loans prior to skip charge off.
  • Ensures escalated disputes and customer complaints are resolved in a timely manner, seeking a positive solution without placing assets or reputation at risk.
  • Accountable for the development and evaluation of quality dashboards and performance metrics reports that are utilized within collections and customer engagement to drive quality improvement efforts; expected to monitor and act on the data.

?Experience & Education

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of collection responsibility is required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of proven leadership experience in a similar role is also required.
  • Extensive understanding of financial statements (analytics and trends) is a must.
  • Knowledge of the general and/or transportation invoice factoring or financial services is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to fluidly present and develop peer-level credibility with a wide range of audiences.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
