Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, the Chief Privacy Officer will manage a team of experienced attorneys & privacy professionals to provide proactive and reactive privacy advice and counsel. This individual will work closely with Senior Executives, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and other functions.
Responsibilities:
CVS Health is looking for a Chief Privacy Officer to lead our privacy team and maintain our best-in-class global privacy program. This individual will lead an experienced team that is focused on our privacy program, advises on incident response, and provides legal and privacy advice on best privacy practices for our innovative products and services.
* The successful candidate will work across our business lines with leadership to identify and address emerging data privacy issues and questions consistent with the Companys values, purpose, and legal requirements.
* Ensure all required policies, documents and certifications are up to date and current to applicable federal, state, and international privacy laws, including HIPAA
* Work with our CISO to protect our data and data privacy

Required Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years of experience in a law firm or in-house position with a focus on privacy
* Experience supervising professional teams
* Strong communication skills - must be able to influence at all levels
* Ability to navigate in a fast-moving environment and provide concise and timely advice to stakeholders
* Expertise in the full range of privacy laws Experience working with applicable federal and state privacy laws, and ideally experience with their application in healthcare.
* Admitted to a state bar and currently in good standing

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in a health care or retail organization
* The successful candidate will immediately develop a working understanding of the CVS Health Corporation business models and strategic initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key internal and external constituents and be viewed as a trusted advisor to the business and someone who can see opportunities in the midst of uncertainty
* Calm influence and stewardship through crisis or adverse circumstances; open, flexible, collaborative, positive and proactive disposition and communication style
* Ability to influence constituencies in multiple areas of the business
* Ability to innovate, anticipate the future, work toward continuous improvement, work cross-functionally to achieve the right outcomes

Education
* Graduate of a top law school accredited by the American Bar Association
