GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manages the Companys Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) public reporting and internal financial reporting. This includes drafting the earnings press release (8-K), SEC form 10Q, and SEC form 10K. Supports the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in matters of financial analysis, asset liability management, and financial modeling. Oversees internal division reporting with an emphasis on the Residential Mortgage Division. Manages the Companys share based compensation plans and provides technical support for share based compensation. Manages one direct report.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Accounting Degree
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification or similar recognized certification or accreditation.
• 7 years of prior accounting (US GAAP) and general ledger experience in public accounting firm or a large publicly traded company.
• 2 years of SEC reporting and accounting policy experience.
• Solid understanding of principles of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to lead teams/projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to constantly improve processes.
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
• Working knowledge of MS Office; proficient in Excel.

PREFERENCES:

• Prior management or leadership experience preferred
• Previous financial modeling, financial analysis or financial reporting experience preferred
• Prior experience with an SEC reporting software preferred (e.g. Merrill Bridge, Workiva, etc.)
• Big Four public accounting experience.

We understand the need to be creative and flexible when it comes to telecommuting and other alternative work arrangements. This position is eligible for our hybrid remote work program which allows employees to work remotely two days a week. This position has flexibility in choosing which two days, in addition to Wednesday, will be worked in the Bethesda, MD office.
