GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manages the Companys Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) public reporting and internal financial reporting. This includes drafting the earnings press release (8-K), SEC form 10Q, and SEC form 10K. Supports the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in matters of financial analysis, asset liability management, and financial modeling, as needed. Oversees internal division reporting with an emphasis on the Residential Mortgage Division. Manages the Companys share based compensation plans and provides technical support for share based compensation.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for SEC reporting (10Q, 10K, quarterly earnings press release 8-K). Ensures that reports, filings and documentation comply with company policies, regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines.
  • Performs complex analysis and prepares reports summarizing financial data. Develops financial models, prepares forecasts and reporting tools to identify business opportunities and risks.
  • Manages the share-based compensation plans and technical support including the oversight to the Certent web-based platform for plan participants.
  • Oversees internal division reporting with an emphasis on the Residential Mortgage Division.
  • Assists with Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and other ad hoc analyses.
  • Works with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits.
  • Research and document accounting matters as needed.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, leads and evaluates direct reports.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Accounting Degree
  • 7 years of prior accounting (US GAAP) and general ledger experience in public accounting firm or a large publicly traded company.
  • 2 years of SEC reporting and accounting policy experience.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Prior management or leadership experience preferred
  • Prior banking experience strongly preferred
  • Previous financial modeling, financial analysis or financial reporting experience preferred
  • Prior experience with an SEC reporting software preferred (e.g. Merrill Bridge, Workiva, etc.)
  • Big Four public accounting experience.

Required Certifications, Licenses or systems needed :

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification or similar recognized certification or accreditation.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Solid understanding of principles of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Ability to lead teams/projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to constantly improve processes.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; proficient in Excel.
