Warehouse Tech - New Storehouse

General Description of Duties: The primary responsibility of this position is to assist staff and volunteers to continually be prepared to carry out the Storehouse mission while adjusting for workload fluctuations. Assist with maintaining an adequate supply of food for out clients, including mobile pantries. This includes, checking and maintaining inventory, quality control, auditing, stocking shelves, and warehouse maintenance. Assists in inventory management, quality control, auditing, and stocking shelves. Responsible for overall food safety oversight. Will be required to handle individual pieces of produce and use senses to determine the quality of product.

Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one (1) year related experience (preferable experience in a warehouse, retail, wholesale setting) and one (1) year janitorial/custodial experience. Forklift training and/or certification strongly preferred. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers.

Other Requirements: Must pass a background/fingerprint screening and pre-employment drug test. Must have an insurable driving record and must possess a valid NM drivers license and proof of liability insurance, and reliable transportation. Must be able to drive, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder(s) kneel push/pull sit, stand, and lift 50 lbs. continuously. Must have sufficient mobility to visit various locations with little or no notice. Must have sufficient eye/hand coordination to safely and efficiently operate equipment.
