Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a full-time Water Billing Specialist to work in the Water Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in providing billing and customer service to the Town of Marana Water customers.

Expected Hiring Range: $16.70 - $20.46
Salary Range: $16.70 - $24.22

  • placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget
Examples of Duties

  • Provides customer service by assisting customers with account inquiries and resolves issues and inquiries via phone, in-person, and email.
  • Creates and manages service orders, to include start and stop service requests, meter install requests, lot inspection requests, and other internal and external requests as needed.
  • Prepares full cycle billing and manages collections, to include assigning field routes, importing billing reads and/or ordering re-reads, analyzing high/low use consumption, and monitoring accounts for disconnection and collection.
Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training
  • Over one year experience providing customer service within an office environment or closely related field
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions maybe considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a utility field, (water, sewer, electric, gas, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (proficient in speaking and writing)
