Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Water Business Services Manager to work in the Water Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in overseeing the customer service, finance, and community outreach for the billing and customer service division.

This position performs cost control activities of the Water Department; prepares financial reports, monitors revenues and expenditures for the department to assure sound fiscal control and effective and efficient use of budgeted funds. Works with managers ensuring all areas are performed within budget.

Hiring Range: $69,155 - $86,444

Examples of Duties

  • Provides leadership and development to assigned staff; establishes team goals and objectives of the functional area(s); participates in the recruitment process, ensures adequate staffing levels, evaluates work performance, ensures policy and procedure compliance, and provides guidance in employee relations matters.
  • Prepares and develops financial reports, statements and perform comparatives analysis, manages department budget preparations/revenue and accounting structure, capital asset entries and invoices, creates meter data reports, and administers financial controls.
  • Project management for one-time long term projects: impact fees, rate studies, new customer service software implementation. Participates in annual audit by coordinating financial statements, including special district reports.
  • Manages all department outreach/communication.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field.
  • Five or more years of increasingly responsible experience in customer service, utility billing, and meter reading, or closely related field.
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Masters Degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field.
