Position DescriptionThe Town of Marana is seeking a Water Reclamation Operations Manager to work in the Water Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity to provide oversight of the operation of the Town's water reclamation collection system, water reclamation treatment facilities, and regulatory compliance thereof.

Expected Hiring Range: $79,709 - $99.635
Salary Range: $79,709 - 119,562
- placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget
- Maintains overall responsibility for operation of the Town's water reclamation facilities and the Town's collections system by ensuring compliance with permits, regulations and guidelines issued by Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ); develops and oversees the annual operating budget; develop policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs); manage the Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permits (IWDP) program; responds to customer inquiries; attends meetings with ADEQ, Town staff, Consultants, Contractors; provides solutions to technical, operations, or public relations issues.
- Provides leadership and development to assigned staff; establishes team goals and objectives of the functional area(s); participates in the recruitment process, ensures adequate staffing levels, evaluates work performance, ensures policy and procedure compliance, and provides guidance in employee relations matters.
- Assists with the development of water reclamation rates and fees; assists with planning for future growth-related projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Sanitary Engineering, Chemistry, Biological/Environmental Science, Business Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
- Over three years of experience in Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collections, and Regulatory Compliance (Aquifer Protection Permits & Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permits).
- Over three years of supervisory experience
- Valid Over Arizona Driver's License
- Ability to pass both of the Town of Marana background checks (motor vehicle/criminal)
- Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Grade IV Wastewater Collection Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
