JOB SUMMARY

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley, in partnership with Terros Health, will address the mental, behavioral, and physical health needs of children and youth and their families, by integrating the Whole Child Approach Program into Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Maricopa County. The program provides comprehensive, evidence based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curricula, and integrated behavioral health services. The program model includes trauma-informed approaches and age specific therapeutic activities that support life skills, academic achievement, communication, and other interpersonal skills.

The Whole Child Approach Program Administrator (WCAPA) is responsible for overseeing program implementation, reporting, evaluation and serving as primary liaison to Terros Health. The WCAPA is expected to lead and collaborate effectively with peers across the organization and in the community. The WCAPA will demonstrate the organizations commitment to reaching the highest quality standards in the areas of health lifestyles, including trauma informed care and social emotional learning; partner management; program evaluation; training and continuous quality improvement.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES

  • Encourages BGCAZ Rules of Engagement and incorporates into day to day interactions and management of staff
  • Collaborates with the Director of Training, Program & Quality to establish and implement a strategic framework to promote the healthy lifestyle outcomes in programming for Club youth and teens, specifically related to emotional wellness
  • Works collaboratively with Boys and Girls Club, schools, and partnering agencies to implement WCA programs and associated targeted programs that provide healthy lifestyle
  • Implements processes to enhance core program planning, data tracking/measurement, and program training to meet grant requirements and continuous quality improvement. Works directly with WCA Lead Evaluator and Terros Sr. Director of Clinical Excellence and Children
  • Provides timely status updates as it relates to all program commitments and deliverables, including grant operating budget and prepare periodic financial reports
  • Manages the WCA program budget, including inventory tracking and grant funded purchases
  • Analyzes and evaluates program data in conjunction with continuous program quality improvement practices to increase high-quality program experiences for youth, teens and staff
  • Promotes use of evidence-informed programs and approaches to support high-quality youth development that builds essential social and emotional skills throughout the Club environment
  • Communicates and collaborate with various BGC departments to publicize program specific events and provide reporting
  • Collaborates, observe, and coach afterschool and summer program staff toward high quality program implementation and continuous program improvement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

  • Must possess a bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in Business, Communications, Healthcare, Social Work or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership capacity with proven success in effectively interacting with internal and external stakeholders and supervision
  • Must obtain/maintain CPR & First Aid certification (within first 90 days of employment)

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS

  • Knowledge of working with youth and teens in the Education, Social Work or Youth Development field
  • of high-quality youth development and management practices
  • Ability to articulate FFI, BGCs approach to positive youth development, principles of program planning & delivery, and Branch planning and assessment.
  • Knowledge of diverse programs, continuous quality improvement and program evaluation
  • Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent community relationships and possess excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and communicate (in writing and orally) with a variety of members, local government entities, neighborhood groups, agencies, schools and volunteers.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with and maintain productive and effective working relationships with organization staff and management in accomplishing goals and objectives
  • Ability to represent and make presentations to local partner agencies, service, business, and community groups
  • Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING

  • Travel between BGCAZ Branches, schools and community sites is required
  • Work is performed in Branches, the community as well as an office setting
  • Evening or weekend hours required on an as needed basis
