Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Amsterdam Nursing Home is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a specialty in wound care to work part time for our skilled nursing facility in the heart of New York City.

DUTIES:

• Assuring delivery of quality care services to all patients in a respectful and professional manner
• Responsible for all open wounds in the facility- including cleaning and dressing
• Primarily evaluating & caring for Residents' wound needs.
• Providing wound care services; wound debridement, application & removal of dressings.
• Performing weekly skin assessments of Residents under their care.
• Assures, maintains and implements care plans as directed.
• Assess, monitor & record Resident's progress during the healing phase.
• Responsible for educating Residents on proper care for their wounds.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years' experience in a long-term care setting is preferred
• Specialty in Wound Care
• Health promotion and maintenance, thoroughness, clinical skills, informing others, medical teamwork, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, pain management, self-development
• Appropriate NY State Licensure in good standing
