POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of Coordinator of Technical Systems is done for the purpose/s of designing, writing and supporting, computer database systems for district information systems, including the computerized student administration system at the district and site levels; meeting compliancy with regard to SAlS (School Accountability Information System); supporting the school sites in the management of school site data; and providing technical support, training, data oversight, and compliance with state accountability expectations. The position will also support the process in the design, development and implementation and maintenance of a data warehouse system for the purpose of supporting improved student achievement. | |

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry): Required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; computer hardware and software. | |
SKILLS (position requirements at entry): Required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operate equipment utilized in position; operate standard office equipment; utilize pertinent software applications (Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access); plan and manage projects, operating and supporting Windows servers, and proficiency in working with SQL databases. | |
ABILITY (position requirements at entry): Required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. In working with others, problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communication ability with diverse groups; meet deadlines and schedules, recordkeeping. | |
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
