JOB SUMMARY
The Academy Internship Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Workforce Development in the execution of the intern program’s recruitment, screening, onboarding and supervision of teens attending the academy and group Internship. Develops and maintains community partnerships and supports AZ Youthforce programming including, events and connections with employers and/or schools. Provides Case management services to students by providing guidance, employment and educational support to maximize the potential of the students meeting their goals successfully; as well as connecting them with different resources to eliminate or minimize barriers. Carries a caseload of 20 to 40 students while maintaining accurate records and notes for each student.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Reponsiblitlies)
§ Recruits and pre-screens participants
§ Assists with enrollment applications
§ Manages 20-40 interns
§ Assists students with development of an educational and employment plan
§ Ensures that students are participating and completing the academy
§ Assists director with reporting, collecting and maintaining statistics and data
§ Administers payroll processing for interns
§ Coaches and supervises teens on game day, ensuring jobs are executed successfully
§ Supports program Director and teens during internship, coordinates intern check in/out, tracks attendance
§ Serves as a liaison between internship site and students during internship scheduled hours
§ Maintains partnerships with schools and employers
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
§ Must possess AA degree and 6 months of supervisory experience
§ Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE,
ABILITY and SKILLS
§ Ability to supervise a group of students
§ Ability to make presentations in school settings and/or community organizations
§ Knowledge of Youth Development service delivery
§ Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent member/family and community relationships and possess excellent customer service skills
§ Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
§ Familiarity with principles and practices of supervision
§ Ability to communicate with parents, maintain confidentiality and engage in respectful interactions at
all times
WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING
§ Travel between Boys & Girls Club of Metro Phoenix sites, schools, and various field trip sites as well as in the community is required. Must meet the insurance standards of Boys & Girls Club of Metro Phoenix
§ Work is primarily performed in the Club and local community
§ Evening hours required; weekend hours and some holidays as needed
