Salary: $20.40 - $27.55 Hourly
$42,432.00 - $57,304.00 Annually
Salary Information: Offering salary will be made between the minimum to midpoint of the posted salary range for this position, based on qualifications and experience. Employees may progress through the full salary range, subject to their successful performance and annual budget approval.
 
Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional level day-to-day accounting functions.
 Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major work in accounting or closely related field that includes a significant amount of accounting coursework and three years of responsible full-time professional accounting experience that includes a variety of accounting functions, involving computerized accounting systems; OR a combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed below. Must successfully complete a background check.
 Examples of Duties:
  • Participates in accomplishment of organizational, departmental, and workgroup goals and objectives.
  • Performs financial analysis and reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • Prepares month end, quarterly, and year-end closing reports.
  • Prepares various documents in compliance with established policies.
  • Monitors and records budgets and fund transfers.
  • Responds to questions and requests for financial information.
  • Prepares reports for state, federal, and grant agencies.
  • Develops various accounting reports and financial statements.
  • Maintains various grants, contracts, projects and similar activities.
  • Performs special projects and other work-related duties as assigned.

 Other Requirements:
  • Knowledge of GAAP and GASB as applied to governmental accounting.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting practices.
  • Knowledge of tribal and federal laws affecting fiscal functions.
  • Knowledge of accounting, auditing and budgeting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of contract and grant principles and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently from general instructions.
  • Skill in preparing clear and concise written correspondence and reports.
  • Skill in preparing detailed schedules and interpreting analytical reports.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting software, AccuFund preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and basic data processing applications for accounting functions.  Must be able to use a 10-key calculator.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with various contacts in the course of work.
