Job Description
The Accounts Technician is responsible for providing general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support
functions toward achieving the financial goals of the department/program assigned to.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide customer services internally and externally (in-person, phone, fax, and other electronic
communications).
Responsible for timely processing of invoices, purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Responsible for the timely processing of accounts receivable for customers of an assigned department or
timely processing of payments to outside vendors based on assignment of position.
Reconcile the accounts and maintain records for the department/program assigned to.
Follow up on slow or non-paying accounts receivable. (GRIIDD only)
Conduct research on accounts as necessary toward ensuring accuracy of records.
Perform filing and other general administrative tasks.
Assist the department by compiling records necessary toward the preparation of financial records and other
financial reports on a routine or as-needed basis.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: General knowledge of office procedures and practices.
General knowledge of automated accounting systems and operations of various office machines and be
proficient in use of applicable software such as Excel, spreadsheets, Access and Word documents.
Must have good writing and bookkeeping skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with tact and discretion.
