Location:                              Remote; Arizona residence required

 

Position Summary:

 

The Apprenticeship Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the statewide CTE apprenticeship program for AZCTECC member districts. The coordinator collaborates with educational institutions, government agencies, and industry partners to support and oversee the implementation and operation of apprenticeship opportunities while ensuring compliance with state and federal policies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

●       Develop, implement, and oversee the statewide CTE apprenticeship program for AZCTECC member districts ensuring compliance with state and federal policies.

●       Collaborate with member districts, educational institutions, government agencies (including the Arizona Apprenticeship Office (AAO)), and industry partners to design, offer, and expand apprenticeship opportunities across the state.

●       Manage grant funds, including budget planning, allocation, and reporting in partnership with the AZCTECC Fiscal Agent and ADE grant recipient.

●       Provide information, technical assistance, orientation, training, and ongoing professional development to member districts interested in, or involved with, implementing and delivering apprenticeship programs.

●       Interpret and communicate apprenticeship-related policies, procedures, and standards to stakeholders, including member districts, staff, and potential participants.

●       Support the evaluation and approval of training programs, providing guidance to ensure facilities and methods meet required standards.

●       Develop and maintain data management systems for participant tracking, performance reporting, and program evaluation ensuring the data submitted for performance reporting are valid and reliable.

●       Create, maintain, and submit documentation for the apprenticeship programs, including program applications, filings, plans, guidelines, standards, curricular resources, and articulation agreements.

●       Draft and submit regular performance reports and narratives containing updates on the implementation and progress specified in the grant’s Statement of Work and the status of grant program outcomes for all participants.

●       Conduct outreach to engage industries, promote programs, and establish partnerships.

●       Work in collaboration with district leaders, and industry partners to develop, monitor, and evaluate apprenticeship programs.

●       Coordinate with member districts and apprenticeship teachers to align apprenticeship programs with curriculum standards, academic assessments, and industry-recognized certifications.

●       Analyze program data to assess student performance, identify barriers, and develop strategies for apprenticeship program improvement.

●       Provide guidance and advice on the policy decisions necessary to improve access to the apprenticeship programs and ensure qualified students from member districts have access to desirable options that expand their choices.

●       Work with member districts and teachers to identify potential barriers that may prohibit a student's completion of program competencies; help to develop strategies with students and teams to overcome identified barriers.

●       Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and correspondence related to the apprenticeship programs.

●       Supervise an administrative assistant responsible for providing administrative support to the Apprenticeship Coordinator.

●       Travel as required to perform job duties and represent the AZCTECC at relevant events.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

●       Valid Arizona teacher certification (CTE certification preferred)

●       A strong understanding of Career and Technical Education

●       Bachelor’s Degree preferred in adult education, education and/or leadership, and one or more years of increasingly responsible project coordination/management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

●       Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

●       Valid AZ driver’s license and willingness to regularly travel in-state, as needed

●       Proof of MMR immunization required unless born prior to January 1, 1957

●       Negative TB test within the last year

Training and Evaluation:

 

The Apprenticeship Coordinator will receive on-the-job training from a variety of stakeholders as well as be responsible for self-directed learning related to the essential duties and responsibilities.

 

A 90-day review will be administered to ensure the deliverables as well as the skills and abilities required for the position are meeting expectations.

 

Position Funding:

 

The Apprenticeship Coordinator position is funded by an ADE CTE Innovative Program and/or Leadership Grant. The duration of this position is contingent upon the availability of grant funds. All applicants should be aware that this is a grant-funded position and may not be renewed if funding is not secured beyond the initial grant period.
