Job Description
Architecture Sr Advisors (Bloomfield, CT) Expert technical architect & dvlpr for Cigna HLICs major systems & subsystems, utilizing thorough understanding of available tech, tools, & existing dsgns for Cigna's Digital Engg team. Improve Cigna's Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. Utilize Hadoop & related open-source s/ware framework techs to ensure & optimize Cigna's ability to store massive amounts of data. Devise reqs, dsgn specs & usage criteria for specific Big Data solutions. Identify app architecture solutions & opportunities for new or modified prgms, reuse existing code through prgm dvlpmt s/ware alts, integrate purchased solutions, or combo of available alts. Research & evaluate alt solutions & recommend most efficient & cost-effective app prgmg solution. Based on performance, may lead team of 2-4 s/ware engineers. Incidental travel only. May work remotely. Reqs MS in Comp Science or closely related field & 2 yrs post-BS deg exp in IT role (or BS & 5 yrs of progressively responsible exp). Qualifying exp must incl: data & s/ware engg; dsgng, deploying, & supporting comp apps; working in large-scale complex environment; Big Data; Cloud Platforms; AWS Architecture; & Hadoop.
