Job Title: Assistant Director of Development                   Status:  Full Time                     

Exemption Status: Exempt                                              

Department/Location:  Catholic Tuition Support Organization Inc. (CTSO), for the Diocese of Tucson/Bishop Kicanas Pastoral Center, Tucson, AZ

Primary Function:  Under the direction of the CEO of Arizona’s CTSO, Assistant Director of Development executes fundraising strategies for the organization. Plays a key role in managing scholarship programs, fundraising, and donor relations. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the Diocese by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse, in word or deed, any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. 
  • Give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example.

  • Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based organization.
  • Participates in the administration of the CTSO Scholarship Program and develop and implement policies.
  • Maintain scholarship databases and ensure compliance with State law.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to identify and cultivate donor relationships. Assist with the corporate tax credit programs, and special fundraising projects.
  • Assist with written proposals, reports, and stewardship communications.
  • Develop efficient strategies and tactics to ensure programs goals.
  • Coordinates donor recognition events, meetings, and engagement opportunities.
  • Evaluates office production, revises procedures, or devises new forms to improve   efficiency of   the organization
  • Oversee the promotional materials with schools, venders .and promotions of the organization.
  • Create, share, and update project plans and communicate status to clients/donors and management.
  • Supervises office staff and all temporary and volunteer help
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical/Mental Requirements:  Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal office environment. 

Required Activities:  Walking, sitting standing, stooping, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, carrying, and keyboarding. 
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Excellent communications kills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is always a must; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and evening work may be required.
  • Be able to type 50 WPM and be proficient with a 10-key calculator.
  • Proficiency in computer technology to include word-processing Word for Windows, and Excel; be able to mail merge excel reports, queries, and text documents.
  • Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance 
  • Ability to successfully pass a background, criminal history, and credit history check.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Two-year degree in business or public administration from an accredited institution or equivalent experience or two years’ experience in a high activity environment as a secretary or administrative assistant or equivalent 
 
Other Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
