Associate - Private Wealth Services (Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Chicago, IL): Represent first-generation entrepreneurs, hedge funds & private equity fund principals, tech founders, & high-net-worth families. Counsel clients regarding various aspects of their overall fin'l affairs, incl sophisticated estate & income tax planning, corporate restructuring, establishing & running family offices & private trust co's, sophisticated insurance planning, & corporate governance & succession planning. Reqmts: JD or LLM or foreign equiv deg, + 3 yrs of exp as an attorney dvlpg estate plan for individuals & families, trust & estate admin, & estate, gift, & generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax planning. Must also have 3 yrs of exp as an attorney: drafting sophisticated & comprehensive estate planning docs, incl Wills, DIGTs, SLATs, ILITs, GRATs; dvlpg complex proactive estate tax planning strategies that navigate intricate legal framework & multi-layered wealth transfer structure, ensuring tax efficiency; dvlpg & implmtg complex trust modification & income tax planning strategies, incl trust decanting, mergers, & nonjudicial settlement agreements; managing trust & estate admin, & drafting trust termination docs; prep'g complex estate tax filings, incl Forms 706 & 709, which involve payment extensions under Sections 6161 & 6166, GST allocation strategies; conducting legal research & analysis on complex legal issues, involving multi-jurisdictional &/or cross-border tax law. Must be admitted to the Illinois bar or admitted to the bar of another U.S. state & eligible for admission to the Illinois bar w/in 2 yrs of hiring. Hybrid work sched permitted. Must work 3 times per wk out of the office in Chicago, IL. Salary: $310,000.
