Athletic and Special Events Security Worker
Position Title: Athletic and Special Events Security Worker
Department/Section: Page High School
Supervisor: Athletic Director/ Principal
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to providing the safety and welfare of students during Page Unified Athletics and activities; minimizing the frequency and/or severity of harmful incidents; and communicating observations and/or incidents that have a potential impact on the general well-being of students, school personnel, patrons, and/or visitors.
JOB SPECIFICS:
- Communicates school policies and enforcement of procedures to students, personnel, patrons and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation.
-Intervenes in potential conflicts for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of campus activities and/or injury to involved parties.
-Monitors students, staff, patrons, and visitors during assigned events within a variety of school environments (e.g. special events, sporting events, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students, staff, patrons, and visitors
- Refers incidents to appropriate site personnel (e.g. injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative guidelines. 6. -Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel for follow-up action.
-Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience in prior event security or law enforcement preferred
Demonstrated strong customer service skills
Must have a friendly disposition and a smile
Must be able to stay calm in stressful, fast-paced situations
Experience dealing effectively with conflict
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to navigate a variety of floor surfaces and areas including carpet, tile, concrete, wood, and pavement
- Ability to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to hieghts (in the bleachers) crowds and loud noise.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Prolonged standing, walking, including walking bleacher stairways
