Reporting to the Audit & Quality Assurance Manager, the Audit & Quality Assurance Analyst (A&QA Analyst) plays a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and regulatory compliance of the Enterprise. The A&QA Analyst will support the Regulatory Compliance Office (RCO) functions by assisting in the coordination of internal and external audits and exams, and conduct thorough quality assurance reviews on work performed by the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team, the Corporate Compliance team, and other departments. Responsible for data analysis, identification of trends, deficiencies and successes, then subsequently reporting to management; as well as collaborating with the Gaming Commission Office, the Gaming Internal Audit department to ensure processes are tested adequately and in alignment with regulatory standards. In addition, providing timely information to RCO and Enterprise management by personally performing the following duties, and demonstrating the GILA WAY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Monitor Enterprise activities to ensure adherence to established procedures, Arizona Gaming Compact, NIGC Minimum Internal Controls, and other federal/state regulations.
  • Generate weekly/daily/monthly/quarterly metrics and reports for QA dashboards/scorecards based on MTL Audit, KYC Investigations, SAR Analytic risk flags, ongoing Audit functions, and Corporate Compliance workflows.
  • Provide detailed feedback to SAR Analysts, highlighting areas of improvement and best practices on investigations and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • In the absence of the A&QA Manager, Collaborates with RCO leadership to update and maintain current federal requirements of the Bank Secrecy Acts AML program.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance reviews of external and internal processes, transactions, and investigations, particularly of the RCOs AML Investigations and Corporate Compliance functions.
  • In the absence of the A&QA Manager, efficiently communicate areas of opportunity within the AML and Corporate Compliance programs during monthly QA meetings with Regulatory Compliance Officer, and corresponding program managers.
  • Stay apprised of money laundering and terrorist financing behaviors, issues, policies, regulations, criminal typologies, industry best practices, and developing trends by attending external training.
  • In support of A&QA Manager, establish and enforce required deadlines provided by the Corporate Compliance Manager, Regulatory Compliance Officer, and AML Manager.
  • Assist A&QA Manager to work in conjunction with Corporate Compliance Manager and AML Manager to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of QA activities, findings, and corrective actions taken.
  • Coordinate and provide support during regulatory examinations and audits of RCO and other departments, including preparing documentation and responding to inquiries when needed.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Compliance Manager and AML Manager to conduct training sessions for AML staff on quality assurance processes and best practices when needed.
  • Must be able to work independently, with little to no supervision.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Must be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or other computer and HR Software.
  3. Ability to evaluate courses of action and reach sound, non-judgmental management decisions and resolutions.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of organizational development.
  5. Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows: Greet our guests, Interact positively with our guests, Listen actively to our guests & Appreciate our guests.
  7. Must possess strong attention to detail and interpersonal communications skills, both verbal and written, and be a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  9. This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of RCO and Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
