Job Description
- The Business Operations Specialist of the ASU Alumni Association is an important part of the Association's Financial Management Team. If you are ready to do more than just AP or AR and contribute to the department’s success, come join us at the ASU Alumni Association.
- Responsibilities include processing AP, AR, GL and HR transactions. Assisting with financial statements, audits and tax returns. Collaborate with internal teams to accomplish Association goals and supervision of our accounting student.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $58,000 to $65,000 per year, DOE with good benefits and good work life balance, (very limited overtime). This is an in-person job working at ASU's iconic Old Main M-F 8-5.
Essential Duties:
- AP - Process supplier payments accurately and timely.
- AR - Process requests for customer invoices and applying customer payments.
- GL accounting, including prepaids, deferrals and revenue recognition.
- Reconciliations of GL Accounts, Programs and Bank accounts
- Human Resources processing.
- Student worker supervision.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- W. P. Carey School of Business graduate with an accounting degree preferred
- Experience with ERP software, Workday preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Success in working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and follow-through on assigned tasks
- Strong attention to detail.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Knowledge of management principles and practices.
- Ability to assist in preparing and analyzing financial models, forecasts, and reports.

Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- The ability to quickly change priorities.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions..
- Regular use of standard office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
