Additional Information:
DEFINITION: Under close supervision, monitors student and staff safety for Sunnyside Unified School District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Patrols school grounds; monitors student behavior; assists in tardy sweeps to clear out hallways, and restrooms; checks and documents traffic and visitors entering grounds; keeps documentation on all incidents occurring on school grounds and submits weekly summary reports to administration; enforces district policies, rules and regulations; assists students, parents and faculty with issues related to safety; helps with student conflict mediation; reports misconduct to appropriate personnel; informs administration of vandalism and damages to school property; diffuses threatening situations or confrontations.
Maintains security of closed campuses; opens, closes and locks gates, hallways, locker rooms and common areas; assists in evacuation of buildings during fire drills and bomb threats; prepares and types miscellaneous reports; monitors extra-curricular activities; observes and gathers information regarding gang-related or substance abuse activities; serves as a positive role model for students; performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Skill in identifying misconduct or unauthorized visitors.
Skill in resolving conflict issues.
Skill in preparing, documenting and maintaining reports.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Work requires frequent driving, walking and standing. Work may involve lifting and carrying objects. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions and infectious diseases.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
On the job training as specified by the District, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must possess an Arizona driver license.
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
First aid/CPR certification preferred.
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: B Hourly Pay: $15.55 Hours per Day: 8 Days: 208 Start Date: 2023/2024 School Year Additional Information: 1 Position Available
