    JOB GOAL:

    The Child Nutrition Assistant Senior - HS Lead is responsible for food preparation, cooking, cashiering, and reconciliation of cash drawers and assists in other areas such as serving and clean-up as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Current Food Handlers Certificate

    • Previous experience handling money desired

    • Experience in food preparation desired

    • Ability to read and execute written recipes and cook food in large quantities

    • Ability to keep accurate records

    • Ability to operate computerized cash register

    • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment

    • Knowledge of HACCP, and workplace safety requirements

    • Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time

    • Ability to work with figures and to make arithmetic calculations

    • Ability to communicate with parents, staff and students on Child Nutrition program

    • Must be able to read, write and speak English

    • High School diploma or GED preferred

    • Knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules

    • Must pass fingerprint and background check

    • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 Days; 9 Months

    COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position

    BENEFITS: As per QCUSD District policy

    REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager

    HOURS: 37.5 hours per week - Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-2 p.m.

    CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and the community.

    2. Maintain appropriate change fund for registers.

    3. Perform cashiering and end of day procedures.

    4. Collect and account for all cash register sales at the end of the day.

    5. Create weekly sales reports and processes weekly deposits

    6. Monitor lunch/breakfast sales to ensure guidelines/federal regulations are met.

    7. Ensure product quality by visual inspection to maintain customer satisfaction.

    8. Assist manager with inventory and ordering.

    9. Assist in keeping student status in the computer system accurate.

    10. Assist in training new employees and student workers on cashiering procedures and guidelines.

    11. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

    12. Complete daily food safety HACCP logs.

    13. Assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen and equipment to ensure cleanliness and to ensure sanitary conditions are met.

    14. Precisely measure and portion ingredients according to recipes.

    15. Prepare and cook various items using different methods.

    16. Assist in food preparation and clean up.

    17. Assist with stocking and replenishing of supplies.

    18. Cover for the manager in their absence.

    19. Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed.

    20. Perform other duties as assigned.
