This position is a combined position of both Health Unit Coordinator and Certified Nurse Assistant. This position is an upgraded position that requires the position holder to be competent in both the HUC and the C. N.A. job skills. These job skills and performance may be on separate days, or the position holder may be asked to perform a combination of the skills during the same shift day. These job skills are performed in collaboration with the healthcare team.The HUC works in collaboration with the healthcare team, the HUC coordinates and prioritizes patient, physician and staff needs. The key essential job functions of this role include customer focus, coordination of provider-entered orders, communication, patient experience activities and time management.The CNA works under the direction of the RN. The scope of responsibilities include: data collection related to patient care, administering treatments and procedures, communicating patient responses of the care provided to the RN. Under no circumstances may the CNA delegate tasks or supervise other members of the health team. The CNA will assume personal accountability for organizational mission, core, and SHARE values.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Medical Terminology, clerical skills, related experience preferred
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Health Unit Coordinator with at least one year experience preferred.
- Successful passing of written pre-assessment required. Completion of St. Mary-Corwin HUC orientation.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Nurse Aid certification from Colorado State Board
- Current BLS certification required from American Heart Association
