DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures. Participates in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits. Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies. Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood and blood products transport, and inventory management. Cross trains to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary. This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands, and the ability to work in a team environment. Participates in a collaborative team environment, including: training and evaluation of peers; scheduling of work; and assisting the administrative functions of the unit.

10 East is a 26-bed acute care progressive care unit with an average 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. The patient population consists of high-acuity adult medical and cardiac patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active California CNA license.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • One (1+) or more years of CNA experience in an acute care setting.

  • Proven ability to observe deviations from normal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • PCU/IMU/Step-down experience.

  • Experience with Epic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.

  • Medical terminology training and/or certificate.

  • Bilingual: Spanish/English.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $46,479 - $57,754 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $22.26 - $27.66

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
